The Thermal hot spring of Saturnia (Terme di Saturnia in Italian) are one of the most famous sites in Tuscany, with its natural hot water baths, formed by beautiful limestone basins, part of which is freely accessible. Charming establishments are located all around with the thermal park and the grand hôtel 5* Terme di Saturnia Natural SPA & Golf Resort.

Presentation

The waters have been gushing here for thousands of years from a natural crater located on the slopes of Mount Amiata. It takes 40 years to pass from Mount Amiata, accumulating minerals such as sulphur, calcium, sulphates and magnesium, emerging at 37.5 degrees with a flow of 800 liters per second, allowing to renew all the basins in 4 hours.
Thanks to their rich chemical characteristics, these waters are renowned for their healing qualities: skin vasodilation, reduction of blood pressure, anti-inflammatory effect on muscles and skeleton, respiratory facilitation, muscle relaxation, skin antiseptic properties, etc.

Cascades du Moulin

The most beautiful place, free of access, are the Mill Waterfalls (Cascate del Mulino in Italian), always accessible 24 hours a day, but be careful to the attendance when it’s nice and warm! Here the water flows into these small white limestone basins, at the foot of an old mill, creating an idyllic environment.
The structure of the Saturnia thermal park is one of the largest in Europe, with pools fed by the source where water gushes at 37.5 degrees with its 5 pools and others of cold water. One area corresponds to the ancient Roman baths covered with travertine.
Terme di Saturnia Natural Spa & Golf Resort (click to book online) is a luxury hotel with 124 rooms, many facilities and services, including the thermal pool and its sulphurous water flowing at 37.5 degrees, access to the adjacent thermal park, golf, etc.
